About This Tour

Northern Ireland Expedition — Full Overview

Northern Ireland is a destination of extraordinary contrasts — ancient natural wonders and a complex, fascinating modern history; world-class museums and untouched coastline; a capital city reinventing itself with energy and confidence. Our Northern Ireland Expedition shows you every facet of this remarkable place.

Belfast is one of Britain's most transformed cities — the former linen and shipbuilding capital that built the Titanic has reinvented itself as a hub of culture, food and creativity. The Titanic Belfast Museum, winner of the World's Leading Tourist Attraction award, is genuinely one of the finest museums in the United Kingdom — a stunning building telling the full story of the ship, the city and the era that created it.

The Causeway Coastal Route is regularly rated one of the world's great drives — a stunning journey along some of the most dramatic coastline in Europe, from Belfast to the far northwest corner of Northern Ireland. Along the way, you will walk through the hauntingly beautiful tunnel of trees at the Dark Hedges (made famous by Game of Thrones), tour the world's oldest licensed whiskey distillery at Bushmills, and stand on the extraordinary hexagonal basalt columns of the Giant's Causeway — a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most extraordinary natural formations on Earth.

The heart-stopping Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge, suspended 30 metres above the sea between the mainland and a tiny island, provides one of the most exhilarating experiences in Northern Ireland — and the views of Rathlin Island, Scotland and the Mull of Kintyre from the clifftop path are simply magnificent.
